The history of the agritourism in Italy, began in 1965 but the first official Italian farmhouse
was created in 1973, the Law of the Province of Trento, for the first time, provides measures to
agritourism support.
In 1975, also in Campania, with Veneto finally gives an incentive to develop agritourism,
but it is only since the late 90's the farmhouse holidays, through the development of the internet, became real driving force of tourism, with a success in Italy is increasingly linked to quality and excellence
selective, able to consolidate a customer, perhaps even "niche", but also intelligent, loyal, and passionate.
In this context, quality and recovery of existing agricultural land, lies at Stella Cilento National Park in the heart of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano's agritourism Fornari.
The 'old farmhouse, which dates back to 1754, was built to accommodate the De marco’s family's old mill
and descendants in alternating Giuseppe and Marco, started producing their own oil. The tools used for cultivation of agricultural land are still preserved and exhibited in the restaurant.
All around you still admire the huge and ancient olive trees typical of the Cilento, now as then, dominate the hill straddling the two valleys.
Then, as now, the picturesque setting as rustic farmhouse to provide a special charm in full respect of the 'harmony of the rural past.
The same crusher mills remain unambiguous images of the environment,
a refined restaurant has been reproduced in the peasant and familiar aspect of the ancient building.
